Josh Godin is an American Canadian and lifelong entrepreneur with 8 years focused on employment and investment driven immigration. Josh’s passion for moving people around the world is rooted in his own transformative experience learning to live and work in China. He believes ‘all the way’ cultural immersion experience is one of the most reliable ways to unlock latent potential in anyone. His experiences in Asia have also convinced him that the centuries long Canadian and American tradition of integrating newcomers is a critical ingredient in the dynamism, creativity and resilience of those societies. Eos Global Recruiting represents Josh’s passion for making transformation possible for individuals with the courage to take it on, his gratitude to the societies that shaped him and an answer to one of the biggest problems of our generation, healthcare staffing.
From 2011 to 2018 Josh helped over 350 families immigrate to the United States via the EB-5 immigrant investor program. As co-founder and president of AsiaWise, he helped more than 240 families immigrate by completing more than 120 million dollars in successful EB5 funding for U.S. business projects between 2012 and 2018. Prior to founding AsiaWise, he facilitated 55 million dollars in EB5 fundraising as China Region General Manager of the Cleveland International Fund, which made U.S. immigration possible for 110 families. Godin’s multiple successful executions of large cross-border transactions with immigration and employment components draws on a rare combination of a deep understanding of Asia, strong grasp of immigration policy and a talent for taming complication. He has a reputation for only selling what he can deliver, and committing absolutely to delivering it.
When Josh’s immigration investment business took him to Southeast Asia in 2018, he was struck hard by the vast pool of bright, driven young people in Southeast Asia not being employed at anywhere near their full potential. He began exploring the possibility of helping some of them unlock their potential by placing them with labor starved North American companies. During that process, he consistently heard desperation from Canadian caregiving and healthcare providers that he spoke to, and even the most basic research into news and government data painted a picture of a healthcare systems crippled by human capital shortage. Josh came to see healthcare staffing as a defining problem of this generation and decided to help solve it. Shortly after, Providence (literally) put Brittany Leidig in his path. In 2018 Britt left Providence Health and Services in Oregon after over a decade to start her next chapter in Vietnam. After years on the front lines of clinical care, freeing clinical workers from the strain of insufficient training, lack of support and overwork had become a driving passion for her. Unsurprisingly, the topic of healthcare came up within minutes of Britt and Josh’s first meeting, and after several impassioned discussions over the subsequent months, they decided they founded Eos Global Recruiting.
Josh Godin moved to China in 2007 to study at Beijing Foreign Studies University and has been in Asia ever since. He speaks fluent Chinese and lived in Beijing, China from 2007 until the end of 2017. Josh has been a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (E.O.) since 2014, and is a founding board member of the E.O. Vietnam chapter.
